I am a lucky woman!
I returned home today after quite a long day. I teach full time at an area high school, then off to UT for one of the two classes I am taking to earn a master's degree in mathematics, followed by teaching one of the two classes that I am teaching at UT. Arriving home after quite a long day, I was met at the door by my wonderful husband with dinner waiting! I was overjoyed by the thought of sustenance that I did not have to do anything to prepare. Not only was dinner awaiting, but also a glass of wine. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am to my wonderful hubby for treating me like a queen today. I am sure that I will grow tired of my Monday through Thursday schedule, but moments like this will make it bearable. I do not expect this every day, but it sure was NICE!

Reconnecting
I was reminded today that I actually had started a blog, but not really posted anything in a while! It has been a busy summer. I was overworked and next summer I will remind myself that the biggest perk of being a teacher is having the summer off.
While writing is not my favorite thing to do, I do love connecting with my family and finding out what is going on with them! Thanks to my Aunt Bonnie for reminding me of this! I will be watching for her tell tale comment so I know if she has been there...

Empty Nest?
As I sit back and ponder life without children at home, I am thinking of all of the possibilities and roads which my life may take. If one had asked me a few years ago about my feelings when the kids flew the coop, I would have been sad, dismayed and even felt a twinge of abandonment. Now that a few have gone and just two are left, I am rather enjoying the freedom that comes with not having to take care of the children. The time that is left in my day that used to be full of teenage drama is now spent relaxing and strengthening my bond with HistoryMike. We have so much more time together and thank heavens we still know how to enjoy it! I am blessed enough to have the family come to dinner on Sundays and to catch up on their lives, get some hugs and kisses, give advice (whether wanted or not, I just can't help myself), and then send them off into the world again.
What will the future hold? I don't know, but I am open to the possibilities and I greet them with open arms and excitement!

Responding to the call
As the wife of HistoryMike, I sometimes feel the need to respond to his posts. I created this blog in an effort to engage in the online banter generated by his rantings! I am not a woman of many words, but hope to at least be part of the game!
